Inspired by Peter Diem
The Grade 3/4 classes created their own version of a Peter Diem cow. Take a look at the steps we took to creating these beautiful cows!
1. We looked at images of art work created by Peter Diem, in particular his cow paintings.
2. We had a cow template to apply the design on our cows. The design of the cow is the most important aspect as it gives the cow lots of personality.
3. We drew our own cows onto A3 paper and then painted a black outline around the cow.

4. When we were happy with out design and our cow outline, we began painting the colourful design inside the cow. Check out some of our designs!
Remember this! Jim Henson explains how to make puppets. Why not try one at home?
Making Puppets
Take a look at the puppets that our grade 3/4 classes created. They started by creatinga design brief of how they wanted to make their puppet and what it would look like. With their design brief they collected materials and started creating. Don’t they look fantastic!

I loves the cows!
Me too Sammie, our grade 3/4 students are very clever!
Hi Miss Quinn,
I loved making the cows.
I remember painting a Peter Diem cow, if you look in the photo my cow is there, it has a pink head and yellow nostril area.
Also, my puppet looked really good, I remember watching Jim Henson’s puppet tutorial
I really like this Terms activity making musical instruments that was really fun
